Here’s a look at a campaign we helped create for Champlain College in Burlington, VT. Working with the esteemed design firm, The Image Farm, and feedback from a Champlain focus group, Dave designed a set of banners and peripheral materials to discourage binge drinking among the student population.

Peripheral materials included buttons, decals, fliers, and inserts.

Production credits for this complex print-media project include photography, stock sourcing, design proposals, file management, layout, etc. (*Note: actual banners 36″H x 84″W hung on-campus Fall, 2010. Campaign visual theme based on an interpretation of the Champlain College logo.)

Thanks sincerely to Image Farm for choosing Royalties as a partner on this exciting and vitally important project. Thanks also to Champlain College and the other partners involved.

Extraordinary circumstances call for extraordinary results. In this unique project, Dave restored a cherished family photo that was brought to him after the client’s dog chewed it to pieces. Have a look at the images below to see how modern image manipulation can add new snap to old photos – even damaged ones.

Royalties Media proudly announces the launch of another new site, AdPopulum.net

AdPopulum.net is a site for reasonable and well-informed commentary on American and global affairs. It’s name, stemming from the Latin expression, “argumentum ad populum,” seeks to challenge the logical fallacy that simply because many believe something to be true it necessarily is. In order to fulfill their mission, AdPopulum seeks out and publishes commentary from a wide range of authors at many points on the political spectrum. In doing so, they highlight differences in opinion as well as under-appreciated similarities.

Conceived as an online publication, AdPopulum’s WordPress structure allows for multiple contributors with easily specified publishing privileges. If you’d like help building a reliable and dynamic desktop publishing platform, please call us at (802)598-3193 or email dave[at]royaltiesmediainc[dot]com.

Here’s a look at some materials Dave created while working with RETN in 2008. Some of the images depict graphics which were made for broadcast, while other images depict a set of four handbills that were designed and printed for the Champlain College Tech-Jam. Working with RETN (under Doug Dunbebin and Scott Campitelli) was a great experience and a great introduction to broadcast standards, film editing and motion graphics. We’ve since gone on to create broadcast projects for an array of clients!

While there are good ways and bad ways to manipulate photographs, few would deny that some enhancement and color correction is almost always necessary. Going beyond the basics of color correction, though, allows photographers to create emotion, direct the viewer’s attention, stimulate the imagination and much more. Have a look at the before and after photographs below and let us know what you think of our photo manipulations!
